Honor the Hero

In light of recent unfortunate events involving one US military soldier, this incident, while tragic, serves as an example of the great heroes and heroines that make up the US Armed Services.
Sergeant Dennis Weichel gave his life to save an Afghan child from being run over by a 16-ton armored vehicle.  She ran back into the street to collect shell casings and didn't see the danger.  Weichel jumped from the convoy in which he traveled, and scooped the girl up out of danger.
Sergeant Weichel was a part of the Rhode Island National Guard, and leaves behind his fiancée, three children, and parents.

Thank you Sergeant for your sacrifice.  We salute and remember you!
